Highway 93 is the primary access between Phoenix and Las Vegas. An improvement project is ongoing with the goal of providing a divided highway between the two cities.
Two bypasses will be constructed in Wickenburg as part of this project. The first one is called the interim bypass and is underway currently. This bypass will take the traffic around the downtown area. The Second bypass is many years out, but will eventually take traffic from near Morristown Arizona to just North of Wickenburg. This second bypass also ties in the Canada to Mexico Trade route which would otherwise run through Wickenburg also, but will be diverted along the permanent bypass which will keep all the traffic many miles from the town.
